WCRP International Conference on Reanalysis

The Sixth WCRP International Conference on Reanalysis (ICR6) will bring together reanalysis producers, observation data providers, numerical modelers and members of the user community to discuss progress, challenges and future priorities in the field. The ultimate aim is to guide the development and use of reanalysis data in science, public services, policy making and social/economic activity.

The conference will focus on:

  • Reanalysis production status/plans, inclusive of all Earth system thematic areas (e.g., the atmosphere, land, oceans and the cryosphere)
  • Observations for reanalysis: data rescue, satellite reprocessing, development of boundary conditions and forcing fields
  • Methods for reanalysis: data assimilation, Earth system coupling, uncertainty estimation
  • Reanalysis evaluation: comparisons with observations, intercomparisons, diagnostics, assessment of the impact of assimilation
  • Regional reanalysis: regions, approaches and applications specific to regional reanalysis
  • Reanalysis application: climate monitoring/services, commercial usage, implementation with AI/ML
