AGU Chapman Conference on Remote Sensing of the Water Cycle: Sensors to Science to Society

February 13, 2024 – February 16, 2024 all-day

In the past decade, there have been unprecedented changes in the fields of sensor technology, satellite missions, modeling, and applications to benefit society. Massive amounts of data are available and can be ingested into data assimilation models to better understand the influence of any particular part of the water cycle. This Chapman Conference aims to explore a number of interesting questions: what is the role of scientists in this mix? Which science questions have been answered in this past decade and what are the next decade’s pressing questions? How do we further connect the business of water with the researchers of water? This conference aims to bring together these groups to build further collaborations and foster new ideas that will meaningfully contribute to society in the decades to come.
