![]() Large-scale Biosphere-Atmosphere Experiment in Amazonia (LBA)Data collected in Amazonia during the last 20 years are available in the Pre-LBA 3-Volume CD-ROM set. These data sets may be ordered at the LBA website and include satellite imagery, micrometeorological observations, near-surface and upper-air atmospheric conditions, and surface biophysical and hydrological measurements. Vol. 1: FLUAMAZON, ISCLSCP, RADAMBRASIL, RBLE; The JERS-1 CD-ROMs contain data from the JERS-1 SAR Global Rain Forest Mapping Project, an international project led by the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) that maps the world's rainforest regions to high resolution by using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). In accordance with NASA's Memorandum of Understanding with NASDA, the JERS-1 SAR CD-ROM data are provided under the condition that the recipient shall be required to submit evidence of its use to NASDA and/or NASA, if requested. ORNL is offering LBA data through the web-based search and retrieval system, Beija-flor. Beija-flor (Portuguese for "flower kisser," or hummingbird) is LBA's name for its version of ORNL's search and order system, Mercury. Historic LBA-related data sets have already been registered into Beija-flor. Additional LBA-related data sets and Amazon Basin subsets of global data collections are currently being added to the Beija-flor index. LBA investigators are making their data available to other researchers and users through Beija-flor by using the LBA Metadata Editor. More information about LBA data sets is available on the LBA web site and the CEOP data management web site.
