Director, U.S. CLIVAR Project Office

This is a new, full-time one-year term position with possibility of extension. This position is located in Washington, DC, at the CLIVAR Project Office.. Initial consideration will be given to applications received prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011. Thereafter, applications will be reviewed on an as-needed basis. Relocation will be paid per UCAR's relocation policy.

Planetary Boundaries Research Coordinator at Stockholm Resilience Centre

The Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC), in collaboration with the Australian National University and the University of Copenhagen, is developing further interdisciplinary research on the Planetary Boundaries, i.e. boundaries for the resilience of the Earth System. SRC is now seeking a research coordinator to lead this process and to coordinate ongoing research initiatives at our institutions and elsewhere, as well as to stimulate new Planetary Boundaries research.

Assistant Professor in Regional Climate Change Modeling at University of California, Davis

The Department of Land, Air and Water Resources in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of California, Davis invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Regional Climate Change Modeling. An outstanding applicant with a Ph.D. in meteorology, atmospheric science, or closely related field is sought. The candidate is expected to conduct research on the processes that affect regional climate change, and to collaborate in cross-disciplinary research that examines the impacts of climate change, particularly on the hydrologic cycle and water resources. Applicants with experience developing or modifying regional or global climate models, coupling global and regional climate models, and applying such models to regional-scale meteorological problems, such as those relevant to California are preferred.
